We finally made it!!

After traveling for 30 hours we safely made it to Beijing around 5:20 am China time. All of the kids did amazing on all the flights. Couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother!! All 9 pieces of our luggage arrived, immigration went smoothly (yep, they allowed all of us in, even Todd!) and our guide was there waiting for us! The driver took us to our hotel, we all enjoyed a shower, and then headed to the Temple of Heaven. The history is so great but we were all so tired, not sure we heard half of what she taught us! Helen, our guide, took us to a restaurant for lunch that served hot pot. It was very delicious but again, we were just too exhausted to really enjoy it. We spent a few hours napping and then just hung around trying to keep everyone awake! It was not easy! We all headed to bed around 9:00 and everyone slept very well! Up at 4:30 but not bad for the first day! Today we are going to Forbidden City, Tiananman Square, and a tour of the hutongs!! Thanks family and friends for all your prayers! We greatly appreciate it! 5 more days until we get Kendra!! :)
